For the first time in history, empowered women are asking for emotional intimacy in their relationships. Many men are coming up short leaving them unfulfilled, frustrated, bewildered and unloved. Traditional therapy sidesteps this basic asymmetry - Rational Empowerment Therapy addresses it. In this address, participants will be introduced to the art of relational empowerment. This radical new approach to intimacy and couples therapy will look at the five losing agendas that waylay good people from fulfilling their goals. This address also will introduce participants to the fundamental techniques of Terry Real's Relationship Turnaround, a method of producing quick, profound and permanent change in troubled couples.
This workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of Relational Recovery Therapy, a new approach to couples therapy. The workshop follows the phases for treatment: empowering the woman; connecting the man; relational "diagnosis"; prerequisites for intimacy; describing a new vision of love; learning relational skills; amplifying progress; building a relational sub-culture. This workshop will look closely at the art of therapeutic truth telling.
Couples notoriously have the same fight for 40 years. They're not speaking to each other, but to each other's core negative image. This workshop teaches participants to identify and share each partner's CNI of the other, how these CNis interact to produce vicious circles and how to break the pattern.
The traditional marriage of our parents, grandparents and before was the companionable marriage. This lecture introduces a new 21st Century skill-set, relationship empowerment, which enables women to stand up for increased closeness in their relationships, while helping men understand new demands and how to meet them successfully.
Learn the three key elements of Relationship Empowerment Therapy: The use of leverage; Attention to "clean-up" issues; The relationship grid. Participants will be introduced to techniques to help partners learn: Where they are stuck in their relationship; What "unfinished business" fuels their "stuckness;" The consequences of not changing, as well as the opportunities for change; How to get from where they are to where they need to be.
This workshop will introduce participants to some of the basics of Relational Life Therapy™, a truth-driven therapeutic approach. Participants will learn how to speak with radical precision and honesty to their clients about what they're doing to de-rail their relationships. You will learn how to "join through the truth" in a way that feels both profoundly respectful and compassionate while, at the same time, pulling no punches. We will look at gathering leverage, separating the person from their behavior, looking at the particular issues of grandiosity, and how to enlist a coalition with the adult part of the client.
Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy ™ deals with the most stuck, most intractable cases by dealing squarely with issues of character. His Relationship Bootcamp begins with this slogan: “Other Workshops Teach You Skills: We Deal With the Part of You That Won’t Use Them.” WHAT you do matters less than WHICH PART OF YOU is at the wheel—the mature, present part of you, or an immature, triggered part of you. “We teach individuals in couples how to be relational—changing each individual’s character as we change the relationship between them.”
