This dialogue brings together three clinicians for a free-flowing, often humorous exploration of spirituality in psychotherapy. They discuss how personal awakenings, energy practices, shamanic traditions, meditation and utilization can shape clinical work, and how therapists can open space for clients’ beliefs without imposing their own. Participants hear stories of pain, faith, intuition and “woo-woo” experiences, along with thoughtful reflections on mindfulness, altered states, consciousness, and the role of meaning in healing.

During this course, a theoretical introduction will be made from breath work traditions such as Yoga, to our actual medical understanding of the breathing process. Practical and simple exercises will be done and clinical applications will be given, including the use of breath work in hypnosis.

Genetics do not have to determine our destiny. You will learn, as a holistic practitioner of integrative psychotherapy, how one can alter not only our perspectives and relationships but also our biology.

This workshop bridges neuroscience and clinical practice to clarify how hypnosis differs from meditation and why those differences matter in therapy. Presenters explain how trance shapes attention, memory, pain perception and hemispheric functioning, then demonstrate how these mechanisms support metaphor work and experiential change. Participants gain a clear, practical understanding of the neurophysiology behind hypnotic states and learn ways to apply this knowledge to create more effective, targeted interventions.

Moving fluidly between metaphor, case material, and theory, the session connects ideas like utilization, consciousness, creativity, and meaning-making with contemporary thinking on trauma, healing, and human development. Participants are invited to think more expansively about therapy as a process of connection, emergence, and transformation, both for clients and for themselves.

The session shows how careful language, pauses, and client-chosen resources create safety while indirect suggestions help loosen self-doubt without confronting it head-on. In Turkey I had the opportunity to research the resources about Sufism (for example Rumi is the most well known sufi in the world and he lived in Turkey) and I studied it both as a student and as a therapist about 15 years. Sufism has actually two big steps. Understanding yourself and life first by mind than by heart. While I was creating the Optimum Balance Model (OBM) I think I did the first part. During this conversation I'll try to explain steps of the inner journey of a Sufi, I'll share my experiences and the story of how they try to tame their Ego.

Short Description:
Psychotherapy did not start with Freud. Although largely forgotten, its origins can be directly traced to traditional healing practices (e.g., mesmerism, mind curers, the occult). In the age of science, healing has been reduced to prescriptions for changing people’s thoughts, feelings, behaviors, emotions, or brain chemistry. Lost in translation are the many ways clients’ cultural and spiritual beliefs and practices can, according to research, improve engagement and outcomes.
