Description

Description: An ordinary, conversational therapeutic style can open the door to deep change in a single session. Participants observe how rapport, permissive language, guided imagery, and gentle use of spiritual and sensory resources help a client regulate anxiety and stress without forcing disclosure or insight. The session illustrates how brief therapy can unfold through careful pacing, attention to nonverbal cues, and client-led imagery, offering a clear example of hypnosis as focused, relational attention rather than formal technique.

Syllabus Description: Chatting has evolved over the years as the presenter's main mode of effective therapeutic change. This will be demonstrated with a volunteer. The essence of chatting is being so comfortable that each can share and talk openly. Sessions generally end with a summarizing hypnosis experience.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To understand the importance of two strangers meeting and being together comfortably.

*Sessions may be edited for content and to preserve confidentiality*
