The expectation of change is central to doing Very Brief Therapy work. The theory and background of doing Very Brief Therapy will be given with many illustrations and examples. A variety of approaches for this work will be presented. The process will be illustrated with a volunteer.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To describe the importance of expectation in very brief therapy.
  2. To list three methods of doing very brief therapy.

Rubin Battino, MS, PhD, received his master’s degree in mental health counseling in 1978 from Wright State University. He is licensed (LPCC) in the State of Ohio and is a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). Battino has been an office of the Milton H. Erickson Society of Dayton for many years and has given many presentations to the members on a variety of subjects.
