Description

Description:

We will closely study the clinical work of the innovative masters who pioneered the development of psychotherapy, revitalizing their methods to meet the needs of contemporary practice. During this course, the techniques of these masters will be brought to life to make your practice more effective, powerful, and playful. Regardless of theoretical orientation, we will learn practical ways to incorporate new methods.

The Grandmaster’s Approach to Psychotherapy class is structured in two parts:

  1. We will provide a video for home study consisting of the clinical work of the selected master taken from the Erickson Archives. You will have an ample amount of time to review the video prior to the class.
  2. Dr. Zeig will provide an interactive discussion breaking down the techniques, styles, and historical values for which the therapist is known.

Class Schedule:

  • April 15 - Carl Rogers - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time
  • May 20 - Virginia Satir - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time
  • June 17 - Salvador Minuchin - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time
  • July 29 - Carl Whitaker - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time
  • August 12 - Erving Polster - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time
  • September 16 - Milton Erickson - 10am - 11:30am Pacific Time

Educational Objectives:

  1. Describe the fundamental tenants of each approach.
  2. Given a patient, indicate a treatment plan using each approach.
