Description:

Impact therapy is a unique multi-sensory, active approach to counseling that integrates counseling theories with creative counseling techniques. This approach accesses all the learning styles of clients by putting both the counselor and client into action. Participants will learn simple, creative techniques that use props (shields, filters, rubber bands, fuses), chairs, movement and drawings to facilitate learning and retention.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To describe the principles of impact therapy.
  2. To describe 10 creative techniques that can be used with difficult clients.
