When we are in love, “Life is like a dream,” and each values the other. This brief exercise reintroduces a loving dream of the couple, utilizing values of childhood and the pleasure of trance to help them accomplish this once again. The female and male therapists induce the trance together.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Describe a conjoint trance induction used in brief therapy.
  2. Describe a technique for recovering positive memories of childhood.

Eric Greenleaf, PhD, has treated patients, trained professionals, presented on and written about hypnotherapy for forty years. Milton Erickson, MD, chose Eric to receive the first Milton H. Erickson Award of Scientific Excellence for Writing in Hypnosis. Eric practices in Albany CA, and directs the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area, an association of licensed mental health professionals providing hypnotic psychotherapy to the San Francisco Bay Area community.

As director and founder of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area, Eric Greenleaf, Ph.D., has treated with, trained, presented and written about hypnotherapy for forty years. His book, The Problem of Evil: Ancient Dilemmas and Modern Therapy, appeared in 2000. Dr. Greenleaf's unique style and extensive background in the use of hypnosis as an aid for enhancing lives and overcoming obstacles is truly something that must be experienced in order to be understood.

The psychotherapeutic foundations of Christine Guilloux, beyond her clinical social psychology curriculum, are Ericksonian hypnosis and systemic therapy at the Palo Alto School, enriched notably by other approaches such as EMDR, somatic experiencing (SE), narrative approaches and energy psychology. She runs workshops and seminars in hypnosis and integrative therapy with healthcare professionals in France and abroad. The practitioner is also a lecturer in narrative medicine at the Université René Descartes in Paris. Its "global" approach allows it to take into account your suffering, your troubles in their context and to take into consideration the interactions with your environment (family, couple, work). She welcomes teenagers, adults and families. She accompanies you on anxiety disorders, phobias, obsessions, stress-related disorders, work-related suffering, time management, difficulty concentrating, lack of self-confidence, post-traumatic stress, sleep disorders, relationship difficulties and communication.
