Volunteer Registration for Couples Conference 2025
Cancellation Policy:
The Cancellation notice must be submitted by April 18th. You must notify the Foundation of any changes by emailing support@erickson-foundation.org or calling 602-956-6196. Cancellations that are NOT received by Friday, April 18th, will NOT be eligible for a refund.
The Responsibilities: Volunteers will be assigned on a random basis to compose Home Study questions for CE credits. You will be scheduled to work approximately two to four hours per day, during mornings or afternoons. Please see the schedule in February to make sure you can volunteer during those times. You must have open availability throughout the Conference (May 2nd through May 4th).
You will NOT be able to choose the workshops for which you are assigned; however, when not assigned, you may attend any sessions you prefer during the conference. Remember: You will be able to claim credit toward a Certificate of Attendance stating your hours for all sessions worked and attended!
The Requirements: Volunteers should be able to understand and communicate in English and have legible handwriting.
If you cannot commit to the requirements/responsibilities, you will not be able to volunteer, but you may sign up as an attendee.
The Cost: The cost of attending Couples Conference 2025 as a volunteer is $25.00. You will be refunded $75 of the original deposit ($100) after you have successfully completed your volunteer duties as assigned. Refunds will be mailed to you 4-6 weeks after completion of the Conference.

All faculty members participating in a sponsored activity, and those who
review and therefore are in control of content, are requested to disclose
any relevant financial relationship prior to the CME activity, including but

by faculty member or spouse, and what role or activity was performed
for this remuneration. If a conflict of interest exists as a result of
a financial relationship it will be resolved prior to the activity. A faculty
member will not be allowed to present if the conflict is not or cannot be
resolved.

Lilian Borges, MA, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor with more than 18 years of experience doing and teaching psychotherapy, Ericksonian hypnosis and brief therapy. She is an invited teacher at the Milton Erickson Foundation for their extensive hypnosis training programs. Lilian has been conducting seminars in the United States and internationally about couples therapy, and Ericksonian therapy.
Elliott Connie is a solution focused therapist with his private practice based in Keller, TX. Elliott specializes in using the solution focused approach to work with couples. He is the co-author of the book The Art of Solution Focused Therapy, and his second book, Solution Building in Couples Therapy, was released in 2012. His latest book, The Solution Focused Marriage: 5 Simple Habits That Will Bring Out the Best in Your Relationship, is now available.
Elliott has traveled throughout the United States and Europe, including the UK, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Russia, South Africa and Canada, training psychotherapists to work more effectively with couples, and helping couples to build more satisfying relationships.
Dr. Cozolino is a psychotherapist, Professor of Psychology at Pepperdine University, and Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the author of The Neuroscience of Psychotherapy: The Making of a Therapist and The Neuroscience of Human Relationships. He is also the author and co-author of many articles and book chapters, including “Sensation, Perception and Cognition” (with Daniel Siegel) in The Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry.
Dr. Cozolino has diverse clinical and research interests and holds degrees in philosophy and theology, in addition to his doctoral in clinical psychology. He has conducted empirical research in schizophrenia, child abuse, and the long-term impact of stress. Recently, his interests have turned to a synthesis of the biobehavioral sciences and psychotherapy. He maintains a clinical and consulting practice in Los Angeles.

William J. Doherty is an educator, researcher, therapist, speaker, author, consultant, and community organizer. He is Professor and Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program in the Department of Family Social Science, College of Education and Human Development, at the University of Minnesota, where he is also an adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
Martha Kauppi believes that relationships (with yourself, your family, your partner, your culture, your community) form the context for life and provide some of the richest material for both joy and struggle. She is skilled in relationship, family, and couple counselor, and love working with people who are addressing family relationship challenges, improving couple communication, or exploring improved intimate connection.
Rick Miller, MSW, is a clinical social worker in private practice in Boston and on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is the author of Unwrapped: Integrative Therapy with Gay Men… the Gift of Presence (2015). Rick has served on numerous national and international faculties, including the International Society of Hypnosis, the Brief Therapy Conference, the American Group Psychotherapy Association, and Harvard Medical School.
Terry Real, LICSW, is a nationally recognized family therapist, author, and teacher. He is particularly known for his groundbreaking work on men and male psychology as well as his work on gender and couples; he has been in private practice for over twenty-five years. Terry has appeared often as the relationship expert for Good Morning America and ABC News. His work has been featured in numerous academic articles as well as media venues such as Oprah, 20/20, The Today Show, CNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Psychology Today and many others.
