The focus will be on the cognitive-behavioral treatment of adults who have been ''victimized'' by natural and intentional design. Specific assessment and treatment interventions will be critically examined and demonstrated.
Joseph Wolpe (1990) interviews police officer Tom, who has problems resulting from a traumatic event: he had been confronted by a violent man whom he shot and killed. Later it became evident that the man had an empty gun and was mentally ill. Following a thorough interview, Wolpe uses eye movement and systematic desensitization to diminish the established fear hierarchy.
Today and in the immediate future, short-term therapy is a major available treatment for most clients. In this paper, I will discuss the use of Short-Term Redecision Therapy in the resolution of major childhood traumas, such as physical, sexual, and mental abuse. In Redecision Therapy, the client remembers, re-enacts, uses therapeutically, and then discards these early traumatic scenes.
Para este video de una hora, buscamos dentro del archivo Erickson entre 1973 y 1978, dentro de los seminarios didácticos de Milton Erickson. Erickson condujo estos seminarios didácticos en la comodidad e intimidad de su propio hogar. En este video, encontramos tres casos- cada uno manejando principalmente un trauma. Y en cada uno de estos casos, hay un significado oculto. Erickson demuestra como tomar información “extraña” provista por el cliente; comprender el contexto de forma relevante al problema del cliente, y perspicazmente, extrapola el verdadero significado para tener un efecto terapéutico.
