Description

Description:

Most cognitive behavioral treatments for social anxiety target testing client fears that other people are critical and rejecting. In this workshop, Dr. Padesky shows why such interventions are more effective when combined with a method she calls, "assertive defense of the self." Enjoy clinical demonstrations and lively opportunities for participant practice.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To describe three common CGT interventions used to treat social anxiety.
  2. To describe how to practice "assertive defense of the self" from both the client and therapist perspectives.
