IC15 Clinical Demonstration 12 - Transforming Negative Self-Talk into a Support Ally - Steve Andreas, MA
Original Program Date :
Length: 01:06:00
Description: This clinical demonstration shows how a harsh inner critic can be transformed into a supportive inner ally through precise, moment-to-moment intervention. Working live with negative self-talk, the session illustrates how shifts in voice, context, relationship, and meaning can reduce emotional charge and restore strength without suppressing the part itself. It offers a nuanced, experiential model for working with self-attack, power, and identity in real time.
Syllabus Description: We all talk to ourselves internally, sometimes resourcefully, sometimes critically, sometimes with our own voice, sometimes with the voices of others. Changing the unconscious nonverbal process elements of a voice is usually much more effective and emotionally impactful than changing the words.
