EP20 Workshop 33 - Coronavirus Pandemic: A Liminal Time of Danger and Opportunity - Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD
Original Program Date :
Length: 2 hours

Description:

I will be speaking extemporaneously about the meaning of “Liminal”, which is the time between  “What was” and “What next?” The outcome depends upon how we confront this crisis of uncertainty in our personal lives as well as the crisis that we humans have brought about for humanity and the planet: Not enough trees, too many people = global warming, eventual catastrophe. Changing this destructive direction will be helped by planting trees and reproductive choice for women. But a bigger vision is needed of our relationship to Our Mother the Earth and a personal, spiritual sense of why we are here—to do with Individuation: becoming who we were meant to be.  Major shifts happen at the grassroots not at the top, when a critical number of people have a change in attitude and perception; action then follows. Circle rather than hierarchy can replace the model of power over others into an equalitarian form. COVID 19 presents us as individuals as well as humanity with the opportunity to bring about positive change.
